I’ve spent nearly a decade personally investing in private equity and pre-IPO opportunities as an individual not through a fund, not through an institution, but with my own money at the same table as early-stage backers. After graduating from Ivey, I ditched the traditional investment banking route and went looking for alternative ways to build real wealth.
I’ve been living on passive income for nearly 10 years now, and today I received another deposit of cheque for interest, just another regular day in my life lol I don’t social much, and my dream has always been to rely on passive income. After graduating from Ivey, I have pretty much ditched the traditional finance/investment banking route and instead I’ve explored many niche passive income strategies and alternative asset classes, making numerous trial-and-error attempts. After about 10 years, I’ve found several ways to generate steady passive income without working (though the “tuition” fees were significant, over seven figures). I’ve achieved three types of freedom: time freedom, location freedom, and relative financial freedom (before having kid lol). Those years were easy and enjoyable, with interest payment/dividends/profits coming into my account wherever I was, whatever I was doing (mostly my hobbies and passions).
Over time, I’ve helped some people achieve various forms of passive income. As more people sought me out, I categorized these questions and began discussing and sharing my thoughts and solutions through various platforms, such as YouTube, and my weekly passive income newsletter. The contents were all just my opinions, based on my own experiences and real data and results tested with my own money. Why Should Individual Investors Consider Private Equity?
If you tried to look for information related to passive income/alternative assets long enough, you probably have realized that very few people on the internet truly have the access to these opportunities , not to mention tested them with their own money and also retired on them.
I have done all of the above.
Most lists of the best private equity firms are written for institutions, pension funds, endowments, and family offices with eight-figure minimums.
The pre-IPO and private equity opportunities I’ve reviewed here are different. Each one has a realistic entry point for individual investors, and I’ve personally participated in every single one.

But this one is nothing like that.
he team behind it has been way too low-key with their publicity (I suspect they’re holding back press releases to pile on the good news post-IPO 😂). There’s basically zero media hype about the fact that they’re going public in under 90 days. Even less known? They still have some allocation left in the final pre-IPO round, plus warrants. According to the founder, institutions have already put in $5M+in one cheque, and overall they have raised 10M+already in this final round. This round closes mid-October (yep, less than 10 days left 😂), and the IPO is slated for early December.

My “R&D” Method My “R&D” Method
Whenever I come across a passive income strategy that interests me, I Test with My Own Money first. I try with a small amount to start with, experience at least 1 full cycle, and depending on the experience along the way and the results at exit, I then decide whether to cut the loss or double down for the next cycle. I rinse and repeat multiple times, and time will eventually filter out the losers and then I just keep the winners for as long as they are still winners.
Out of everything I have tried, below are generally what the results are like:
- 90% of my initial “tests” failed, meaning I lost money in them. I consider the loss as “R&D” costs, which is part of learning to get to the winners eventually.
- 5% are on track and still going before the first exit.
- Remaining 5%: success early on and have become sustainable passive income streams for me for years. Expected results are achieved, I continue to double down as time passes.
The strategies I share on this website are usually the third type — I’ve tested them for at least one cycle, achieved the expected results, and they’re actionable for anyone. These are proven strategies that have worked for me (it may not work for you, so please do your own due diligence), and they’re generally unaffected by market conditions and interest rates.
